Notes
Shipyard SAI Ambrosini Tiger Shark 55 ' ALALUNGA IX' of 1970.

The Tiger Shark 55 is arguably one of Franco Harrauer's most iconic designs. ALALUNGA IX is the second (and only existing) hull of this vessel reconditioned by the current owner in its original design ready for cruising.
COMMENTS:
ALALUNGA IX is hull number two of the two "Tiger Shark 55" designed by Franco Harrauer and built by the Società Aeronautica Italiana shipyard of Ing. Ambrosini. The boat was the result of a design experiment involving the most important naval architects of the time. The concept was born at a symposium at the Genoa Boat Show in 1967. With the first boat launched the following year and displayed at the Genoa fair.
Cantiere Ambrosini of the Italian Aeronautical Society (SAI) is opened in Passignano sul Trasimeno specifically to build the Macchi C200 fighter plane used by the Italians during the Second World War. After the war the structure began to use its technology and construction skills for civil aviation and Franco Harrauer's two yacht projects: the Tiger Shark 55 and the Blueshark 950.
Today ALALUNGA IX is a great example of Franco Harrauer's classic design and experimental technology proven in post-war Italy. She is not only an important piece _ Italian history , but a work of art in her construction and very capable for sea motor yachts , ideally suited to deep sea sport fishing .
Refurbished in 2017 and 2020 and with the advantage of replacing the 425hp CAT engines in 1999 (with only about 300 hours of operation), ALALUNGA IX is in very good condition. fit and ready for the next owner.
MANUFACTURER'S OVERVIEW:
The sea was the vocation of SAI Ambrosini, which was born from seaplanes, from the processing of light alloy, a technology acquired in decades of aeronautical processing, which led to the creation of cutting-edge structures for racing.
Many projects were carried out by the Maritime Division of SAI Ambrosini for both civil and military use; for private customers many sailboats and motorboats were built and, among the first, are unforgettable YENA – at the top of the most important IOR rankings and unscathed by the terrible storm of the Fastnet in 1979, DIDA, CARINA VON FORELE, PACIFIC, DOCTOR FAUST, EMERE AUDE II, IL MORO DI VENEZIA – entirely in light alloy, and LONGOBARDA – the first maxi-yacht in carbon fiber.
